JAVOR HAS NEW BOARD OF DIRECTORS: BRUNO KOMAC and
ALEKSANDER JAKOVINA
On Octrobre 1st, Peter Tomšič, Valerija Kokošar, and Serđo Karlič handed
over the management of the company to Bruno Komac, who is now the Presedent,
and Aleksander Jakovina.
The new Board of Directors Presedent Bruno Komac joined Javor in 1996,
after he had successfully finished his studies and graduated in Wood
Technology. He first worked as a commercialist, and in 1999, became the
director of the subsidiary Lesograd in Kozina. In 2000, he was appointed the
director of the subsidiary Furnir (Veneer) in Prestranek, and in 2002, the
director of the subsidiary Opažne plošče (Shuttering panels), when he became
member of the company’s Board of Directors. In 2003, he decided to leave
Javor, joined the company Tomos in Koper, and then the company Liko Vrhnika.
The 38-year-old Bruno Komac returned to Javor as his President.
Aleksander Jakovina, 39-year-old Forest Engineer, has gained a lot of
experience at Javor, especially in the fields of plywood, and shuttering
panels. He joined Javor in 1993, when he finished his studies, and first
worked as a commercialist in the Plywood programme. He then joined the
profit centre Opažne plošče (Shuttering Panels) in Belsko. In December 2004,
he was appointed the director of sale, and in June 2005, the director of the
profit centre Opažne plošče. Today, he still runs this profit centre.

RUDI FATUR AND BRANKO BERGOČ GET THE AWARD FOR INOVATIONS
Granting the awards to the best innovators in the region which took place on
June 11 in the manor house Jamski dvorec in Postojna was also the final part
of the competition carried out for the sixth year by the Innovations
Committee of the Postojna’s Chamber of Commerce. Among the awarded
innovators, there were two employees of the subsidiary Javor IPP d.o.o. –
Rudi Fatur and Branko Bergoč.
The aim of this competition is to encourage innovative culture in companies,
as knowledge, innovative ideas, and development are the key to the success
of every company as well as the basis for staying competitive.
This competition is becoming more and more important in our region, because
the number of applied innovative ideas has increased significantly. This
year, there were 58 innovators from our region, who applied 21 innovations.
The committee granted 3 first, 11 second, and 7 third awards. Rudi Fatur,
Branko Bergoč and their co-author Zvone Nagode of the company NMC d.o.o.
from Logatec got the third award for their innovation “Optimization of the
cutting of wood on the multi-blade circular saw”.
The authors of the innovation tried to find the perfect solution to increase
productiveness in the shuttering panels’ production, and came up with the
optimum for the multi-blade circular saw. This is the optimal solution for
the cutting of unedged boards.

JAVOR'S SECOND PRESENTATION AT THE SHOW IN NANTES
From May 28th to May 30th, the 10th international show Carrefour
International du Bois took place in Nantes, where among 507 exhibitors Javor
presented its shuttering panels, plywood boards, and veneer.
The first time Javor exhibited in Nanates and on the French market was two
years ago, when we presented products from all four wood programmes. The
show Carrefour International du Bois takes place every two years, and is
aimed at professionals, who deal with wood processing and wood commerce.
At the show, the interests were greatly influenced by the current EU market
situation – supplies are much higher than demands. The visit of the
relatively short-lasting show was also disturbed by the one-day
demonstrations in Nantes. From 507 exhibitors, 25 % came from abroad;
whereas most of them were, as in the past years, French producers and
sellers. For this jubilee show, the organisers extended the exhibition space
for 11 % to 7,000 m².

JAVOR AT SYMPOC SHOW IN ZARAGOZA
At the 14th International Show of Construction SYMPOC 2008 (April 22 to
April 26), there have been 400.000 m² of exhibition space, and 2.014
exhibitors presented their products. At this show, the Group Javor exhibited
its construction products for the first time.
The Spanish market which has become one of the important Javor’s markets has been facing business recession since last autumn. The recession has first started to show in construction, as investments in buildings – especially apartments – have been cut down drastically.
Despite of the crisis in construction, the Show SYMPOC 2008 was well attended – there were around 100.000 visitors. There was also a great interest for Javor’s products. We presented shuttering panels, isoplyform, and plywood overlaid with phenol film. Javor’s exhibition space was visited by buyers from Spain, Portugal, Italy, Andorra, and even Chile and Ecuador.
The presentation provided potential buyers with detailed information about Javor’s products, thou its effectiveness will show when we get orders form our buyers.

PRESENTATION OF JAVOR’S CONSTRUCTION PROGRAM ON THE
CONSTRUCTEXPO-ANTREPRENOV FAIR IN BUCHAREST
15th edition of international exhibition of materials and systems
for construction took place from 5th to 9th March in
Bucharest. Javor was exhibiting for the first time its program for
construction -shuttering panels and special plywood for construction
Isoplyform.
CONSTRUCTEXPO-ANTREPRENOR fair with 545 exhibitors from 19 countries on
24.000 sqm of show grounds was the biggest construction fair in Romania.
The fair was a good opportunity to get a good impression about the situation
on the Romanian construction market and make contacts with new potential
buyers as well.

JAVOR'S PRESENTATION ON THE ZOW BAD SALZUFLEN FAIR
After one-year break JAVOR participated again on the supplier show to the
furniture and interior design industries ZOW Bad Salzuflen in Germany. The
presentation was focused to veneers and plywood boards.
From February 25th to 28th JAVOR presented their products together with 750
exhibitors from 34 different countries from all over the world.
Our first evaluations of this years fair presentation are positive. ZOW fair
is the synonym for a new, more efficient kind of business meeting-point and
is well known as a trend-setting platform for communication and innovation
through its unique “workshop« concept.
The increased number of representatives from different countries visited us
on our stand. They found our products especially plywood and veneers,
interesting.

JAVOR'S PRESENTATION ON THE IMM 2008 FAIR IN COLOGNE
JAVOR Pivka is participating on the International furnishing show IMM in Cologne from January 14 to 20, 2008.
Its presentation focused on two new families of basic model of chair LORD (made of solid beech wood) and chair BRIN (made of laminated beech wood). The first one is suitable for furnishing hospitals and senior homes and the second one is designed for furnishing offices, halls, waiting room, senior homes...).

JAVOR'S THIRD PRESENTATION ON THE FIM VALENCIA FAIR
From September 24th to 29th Javor was participating on the International Furniture fair FIM Valencia. Due to fairground reorganization and modernisation our stand was this year together with the other exhibitors of modern furniture in Hall P2/N3.
The majority of models were presented as novelties – two families of chairs and easy chairs LORD and NIK. Visitors from Spain, Portugal and Belgium found our new model of easy chair LORD with adjustable mechanism very interesting.
Even though the number of visitors was smaller, our first evaluations of this year's fair presentation are positive.

From May 14th to 19th JAVOR presented its program of products for construction on the international construction fair CONSTRUMAT.
Biennial fair was the biggest construction fair in Spain where more than 4.500 exhibitors from 50 countries put on show over 50.000 products for construction. After the first evaluations the fair attracted the record 286.000 visitors.
On 16 sqm of show grounds on fairground Gran Via JAVOR presented shuttering panels Javor and special plywood for construction Isoplyform. Customers who have shown interest for our products for construction and also for veneer were mainly from Spain.
