The Javor Company was founded on the basis of more than a hundred year old tradition of wood processing in 1951 when all the wood processing plants and saws in the Pivka region were united. It included the plywood and blockboards factory together with the saw in Pivka, veneer house and box plant in Ilirska Bistrica and veneer house in Prestranek. As plant in Bac, Belsko, Postojna and Kozina joined Javor, its production lines broadened as well. In Belsko they started production of shuttering panels, in Postojna furniture and palettes in Kozina.
This way Javor Pivka continues the wood processing tradition. Today the Javor Pivka business system operates as a group.
