JAVOR'S SUBSIDIARY JAVOR STROJI (MACHINES) AT THE LESDREVMASH 2010
FAIR IN MOSCOW
From September 27th to October 1st, JAVOR Stroji was presented its products
on the biennial international exhibition LESDREVMASH 2010 in Moscow.
Together with 500 exhibitors from 23 countries JAVOR Stroji was presented
its machinery (hydraulic presses), equipment and tools for the woodworking
and furniture industries.
We use this market opportunity to show our products, to meet exsisting and
potential clients from that large and prospective market on one place. JAVOR
Stroji was presented on the Russian market for many years and has many good
references.

THE BEST INNOVATIONS FOR 2009 IN THE INNER-KARST REGION
On Thursday, June 22, the manor-house Jamski dvorec in Postojna hosted the
3rd
Development conference named “Eco-innovations – innovations for sustainable
development”. On this occasion, the Innovations Committee of the Postojna’s
Chamber of Commerce the best innovators in the Inner-Karst region were
announced. This year the committee granted 1 first, 3 second and 7 third
awards as well 19 diplomas.
Robert Tornic and Dusan Fatur from profit centre Veneer and
their co-author dr. Janez Vrtovsek from National Institute of
Chemistry Slovenia got the first – gold award for their eco-innovation
“Reduction of water consumption in JAVOR’s veneer house at Prestranek”.
Among the awarded innovators who got the third awards for their innovations
was also Brane Jurca from subsidiary JAVOR Furniture d.o.o.for
innovation “Multi(functional) chair RELAX” and five employees of the profit
centre Plywood: Zoran Gustin, Ales Pozar, Franko Dolgan, Roman Pavlovic
and Matjaz Likar for innovation “New veneered plywood board for special
application”.

JAVOR'S THIRD PRESENTATION AT THE SHOW IN NANTES
From June 2nd to June 4th, JAVOR Pivka was presented its products on the
11th international show Carrefour International du Bois in Nantes.
The presentation was focused on veneer, shuttering panels and plywood
boards. The rest Javor's products were presented through catalogues. We use
this show for the timber industry to present our products, as well as
meeting with existing and new potential customers from France and MENA
countries.

Javor on MosBuild fair in Moscow
After four years break, JAVOR Pivka was participated on the Russia's largest
and arguably best known trade event that comprises 23 indiciual exhibitions
in 6 main categories that cover the entire spectrum of products and services
within the building and interiors industry.
Fair MosBuild was took place in Moscow between 6 and 9 April 2010.
Together with 2.483 exhibitors from 45 countries JAVOR was presented its
construction program – shuttering panels and Isoplywood. Our stand was on
ExpoCentre together with eight exhibitors from Slovenia. We use this
opportunity to introduce our products, to meet existing and potential
clients in one place.

JAVOR'S FIRST PRESENTATION ON INDIAWOOD FAIR
From 4th to 8th March Javor Pivka was presented its products on
International Exhibition on Woodworking Machinery, Tools, Fitting,
Accessories, Raw Materials and Products INDIAWOOD in Bangalore.
We belive that India is a new market with scope for business for European
companies and for Javor, too. The presentation was focused to sliced veneer.
The rest Javor's products were presented through catalogues and the other
presentation materials.

JAVOR ON ZOW FAIR IN BAD SALZUFLEN
After one year break, JAVOR Pivka was participated on the most important
furniture supplier fair ZOW, which took place in Bad Salzuflen between 8 and
11 February 2010.
Together with 663 exhibitors from 35 countries JAVOR was presented its
veneer and plywood boards. Our stand in Hall 20 was well attended. The
majority of our visitors came from German-speaking countries.

JAVOR STROJI ON INTERPLASTICA 2010 FAIR IN RUSSIA
From January 26th to 29th JAVOR STROJI (Machines) was presented its
hydraulic presses for the fourth consecutive year on the 13th International
Trade Fair Plastic and Rubber – INTERPLASTICA 2010 fair in Moscow.
Despite the current negative economic climate, the attendance on our stand
was good. We decided to exhibit on a fair in Moscow, because we estimate
that the Russia is the potential market for plastic industry.

JAVOR'S PRESENTATION ON THE IMM 2010 FAIR IN COLOGNE
From January 19th to 24th JAVOR presented its furniture program for the
sixteenth consecutive year on the IMM furniture fair in Cologne.
The fair is an annual overview of the novelties in the furniture industry
and also synonym for a new, more efficient kind of business meeting-point
and is well known as a trend-setting platform for communication and
innovation.
Together with more than 1.000 exhibitors from different countries from all
over the world JAVOR exhibited in Hall 10.1. Its presentation focused on two
novelties of basic model of chair GASA, suitable for furnishing multipurpose
halls, BAMBI child chair and on two families of basic model of chairs and
tables COMET ana L.

JAVOR'S FOURTH PRESENTATION AT THE SHOW SAIE IN BOLOGNA
From October 28th to 31st JAVOR presented its program of products for
construction on the international construction fair SAIE in Italy.
Technological innovation and visions for construction are two key features
of the biennial fair in Bologna. From 1.700 companies, 20 % came from abroad;
whereas most of them were, as in the past years, Italian building designers
and contractors.
Javor exhibited special plywood for construction Isoplyform, shuttering
panels and formwork beam Javor. At the show, the interests and visits were
greatly influenced by the current situation on the construction market where
supplies are much higher than demands.

JAVOR’S SECOND PRESENTATION ON THE ZOW ISTANBUL FAIR
2nd edition of supplier show to the furniture and interior design industries
ZOW Turkey took place from 1st to 4th October in Istanbul, where among 250
exhibitors Javor presented its veneer and plywood boards. The other Javor’s
programs have been presented with catalogues.
Despite of the crisis in the world, the ZOW Fair in Istanbul and also our
stand was well attended – there were around 4.000 visitors more than in year
2008. The increased number of representatives from different countries
visited us on our stand, but the effectiveness of our presentation will show
when we get orders from new buyers.

JAVOR PRESENTS NEW CHAIR MODELS AT THE FAIR IMM KÖLN 2009
At the IMM furniture fair, which took place in Köln (19–25 January), the
Group Javor presented its furniture programme. We were satisfied with the
visit of the customers and their response to our new products.
With the presentation at the fair we emphasised the orientation of Javor’s
furniture programme towards the development, production and marketing of
chairs for the furnishing of buildings – especially homes for the aged,
hospitals and restaurants. Those, who visited Javor’s exhibitions space in
the hall 8.1, could see various new chair models from massive or lamented
wood, as well as some that had already been presented – we upgraded them and
improved their function.
Among the new models, the two armchairs – Relax L and Brin – caught the most
interest. The electric mechanism of the Relax L model enables the customer
to relax completely, and get out of the chair more easily. The Brin model,
equipped with casters, makes it easier to transport patients, disabled and
elderly people. Both armchairs are designed especially for hospitals and
homes of the aged.

PRESS CONFRERNCE
At the press conference on Tuesday, January 13, at the seat of our company
in Pivka, the Board of Directors President Bruno Komac and the Board of
Directors member Aleksander Jakovina presented the business activities of
the Group Javor in 2008, and the general guidelines for 2009. In 2008, the
Group Javor did not manage to meet its expectations, and the different
programmes were not equally successful. The subsidiary Javor Stroji (Machines)
exceeded its plans. The positive turnout in the furniture programme is
welcome, whereas the shuttering panels programme was hit the hardest by the
crisis. Javor’s management is convinced that in this critical situation the
company’s great priority is its diverse programmes.
In the third quarter of this year, after many years of slack business,
Javor’s furniture programme managed to stop the negative trend, and has been
gradually reducing its loss. The furniture programme thus represents a new
opportunity for the Group Javor.
The year 2008 was an extreme one for the company, and the different
programmes were not equally successful. According to a rough calculation,
the company managed to earn 93 % of the planed income. The most successful
was the subsidiary Javor Stroji, which considerably exceeded its plans, and
managed to carry out an investment worth 3.5 million € (a new production
hall). Its production is fully booked with orders until the end of
September.
In the second half of 2007 and through the entire 2008, the crisis in the
building sector was the biggest problem for the profit centre Opažne plošče
(Shuttering panels). The demand for shuttering panels had dropped
drastically, and in 2008 the selling price for this product dropped as well.
The negative consequences of the crisis can also be seen in the veneer
programme, and to some extent in the plywood programme – especially in the
segment which depends on building activities and transport. The subsidiaries
Javor Trgovina Ljubljana (Shop) and Javor Trgovina Zagreb (Shop) have not
been achieving its plans in the last few months.
For each organizational unit, the management decided to take measures in
order to stabilize the business and mitigate the consequences of the crisis.
These measures are aimed at using all internal reserves (increasing
efficiency at work, lowering costs, as well as using materials and raw stuff
rationally), cooperating inside the system and developing new products.

COMPANY JAVOR STROJI AWARDED FOR ANNUAL SUCCESS
On Saturday, January 10, Jamski dvorec in Postojna hosted the traditional radio show, where the name of the most popular person of the year (chosen by the listeners of Radio 94) is announced. On this occasion, Radio 94 and NTR, the Slovenian Chamber of Commerce, and the Chamber of Craft and Small Businesses granted the award for annual success to Javor's subsidiary Javor Stroji, and Mr. Rudi Blažek, an entrepreneur from Razdrto.
This year, the traditional radio show on Radio 94 and NTR was called Ona ali on (He or She), and the listeners chose the act of the year. They also chose the most popular person from sociable life. In association with the Slovenian Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber of Craft and Small Businesses, the radio stations also granted the award for the annual success. This year the award was given to Javor's subsidiary Javor Stroji, and the entrepreneur Rudi Blažek.
The subsidiary Javor Stroji was given the award with the following argumentation: “The company, which gets the award for the annual success, is Javor Stroji d.o.o., the world’s biggest producer of hydraulic presses for plastics. Over the last few years, Javor Stroji has achieved the annual income growth of 15 % and the annual business of €7 million. It creates the added values of €50,000 per employee, which is well above the average in the machine building industry. All the production of the company with 46 employees is exported, most of it to Germany and the USA. Last year, they built a new production hall worth €3 million, and they have the biggest bridge milling machine in Slovenia. Their products (presses) are worth €1–2 million, and they produce 4 to 5 big hydraulic presses every year. They don’t have to be concerned about the business – they have enough orders until October 2009. For the last twelve years, the head of Javor Stroji is Rudi Tomšič.”
Mr. Tomšič accepted the award on behalf of all employees. This success is the result of the hard work of all the employees. As Mr. Tomšič emphasized, it is the merit of every individual employee. Thus, the award is the crown of the business year 2008, which was very successful for the company, and they will remember it after the biggest and most expensive investment in the history of the company – the building of a new hall.

THE MERGENCE OF JAVOR’S FURNITURE PROGRAMME
On January 1, the organizational structure of the Group Javor changed. The
Group thus consists of join-stock company Javor Pivka, d.d., and five
subsidiaries. The joint-stock company has three profit centres – PC Opažne
plošče (Shuttering panels), PC Vezane plošče (Production of Plywood), and PC
Furnir (Veneer) – as well as management and professional services. The
activities and employees of all the Javor’s furniture programmes (at the
locations in Bač, Pivka and Logatec) are now part of the subsidiary Javor
Pohištvo, d.o.o. (Furniture). Thus, the Group Javor consists of five
subsidiaries: Javor Pohištvo d.o.o. Pivka, Javor Stroji d.o.o. Pivka (Machines),
Javor IPP d.o.o. Pivka (for the Disabled), and Javor Trgovina d.o.o.
Ljubljana, and Javor Trgovina d.o.o. Zagreb (Shops). All the subsidiaries
are entirely (100 %) owned by the company Javor Pivka d.d.
Towards the end of 2008, the Board of Directors and Management of Javor
Pivka d.d. decided with regard to the organisational mergence of the Javor’s
furniture programme, that the profit centre Pohištvo and the subsidiary
Pohištvo Notranjska merge into one subsidiary on January 1. With this
mergence we continue following the strategy of the optimization and
development of furniture within the Group Javor.
In the second half of 2008, the so far existing subsidiary Pohištvo
Notranjska d.o.o. continued with the production of chairs of the former
group KLI Logatec. The new name of this subsidiary is Javor Pohištvo d.o.o.,
and its seat is now in Pivka, at Snežniška cesta 32.
This company took over the activities and employees of the profit centre
Pohištvo.
The subsidiary Javor Pohištvo d.o.o.constinues with its activities at all
the existing locations – in Logatec, Pivka and Bač. The subsidiary’s
director is Rudi Zadel.
